You may or may not know that you can link a Road Angel
to a Laptop or PDA. The laptop link is quite easy, but to link
to a PDA is often little harder as they often require special
connectors.
The Road Angel has a powerful 12 channel GPS receiver inside
with its output on the back you can use it to link with a PDA,
whilst still using it as speed trap and black spot locator.
Holux have offer a range of cables with fitted connectors that
will let you link your Road Angel to a PDA and then with the
use of some navigation software such as Tom Tom or Navman Smart
ST you can have a talking navigation system in your car for
not a lot of money.
The Holux cable will power your PDA and also the Road Angel
in one neat cable
What do you need in addition to your Road Angel
1) A Holux cable kit that powers the Road Angel as well as the
PDA and links the two together for sharing the GPS data.
2) A suitable PDA
3) Navigation software appropriate to your PDA
The cables are around £30 and do a great job. If you
have a PDA and a Road Angel you would be mad not to take advantage
of the option to have satellite navigation in your car and the
cost of doing this will not drain the bank account and would
a fully fitted Car Navigation System. Most PDA's are supported.
If you don't have a PDA and want to take advantage of this
then Holux can help with a PDA kit. This consists of....

Above: A Holux PDA kit at around £400
or less
1) an HP iPAQ h2210 PDA (400MHz CPU, 64Mb RAM, CF & SD memory
slots and Bluetooth) or similar
2) cable kit that powers the Road Angel as well as the PDA and
links the two together for sharing the GPS data.
3) TomTom Navigator v3 voice guided software including UK map
and Major Roads of Europe maps .
4) a 128Mb memory card suitable for storing the entire UK map
data.
5) a PDA mount to keep your iPAQ h2210 securely mounted where
you can easily see it.
