UNDERSTANDING AND USING THIS DATA.
The system in use is a single antenna system.
Single antennas can suffer problems with accuracy and range
at times. The problem being is that you really need three antennas
at least 100 mile apart in different locations and some software
to triangulate the data to get an accurate reading. Propagation,
where the atmosphere affects radio waves and the range, can
also cause problems in showing storms closer than they really
are or further away. I belong to two triangulation systems and
one is free the other you pay for, unless you contribute your
data, then you get it free.
The top image on this page is the system I use
and is un triangulated so in some cases it may show storms in
the wrong position, sometimes it will show then in the right
place. The two bottom images are the triangulated data and will
show the storm positions in a more accurate way. Strikestar,
the pay system, is not shown on this page, this is even more
accurate. Use the top image for some of the data and the bottom
images for better positioning of the storms.
